I downloaded LinNeighborhood in a RPM from freshmeat.net. The first one I downloaded
was for Debian distro (I am using Mandrake 7.2 right now). Anyway, I had a problem
looking for the executable after installation (had to adapt to the Linux directory
structure).

For a desktop, LinNeighborhood is a very advantageous tool. But it doesn't generate
any errors when you cannot connect to the samba server compared to the command line.
The command line, if there is any error, it will generate a message. I still prefer
the command line, though I prefer to use GUI when browsing the files (wala ng dadali
pa diyan).

The said product is not really like the windows version.
At least, yung RPM

If Linux will be used as a desktop in a networked environment, once the samba server
has the correct configuration and running, the LinNeighborhood is a great productivity
Konqueror file manager. Pwede pang iset ang password.

I advise to those who is new to linux networking (like me), mag-aral na muna ng samba
commands at mounting of fs/directories.
Or else the user may have a hardtime troubleshooting the

By the way, I sent a subscribe email to newbie (nakalimutan ko na nga ang email
address) three days after it was launched (nung bluepoint event). Accepted ako but I
don't receive (not a single) email from that mailing list. Could you give me the
subscription address again and the forum address?

Thanks a lot. Galing the technical support sa PLUG!

Regards,
Leo
