err..glibc 2.1 is the linux C library, the next most important component after the 
linux kernel....are u trying marsnew in linux?..anyway glibc 2.1 is in the package 
libc in series dev of suselinux. you can rpm -Uvh libc.rpm or use yast to do add it.
