If you'd still like to use Sendmail, this is how to enable the relays.

I think Sendmail version 8 starts relaying default is only the localhost or the server
itself, it is security of your mail server, so people can't use your server to send
anonymous emails or spamming. You can enable relaying by host, email and network
number.

edit your /etc/mail/access, put your network number or ip address on the file.

# Check the /usr/doc/sendmail-8.11.0/README.cf file for a description
# of the format of this file. (search for access_db in that file)
# The /usr/doc/sendmail-8.11.0/README.cf is part of the sendmail-doc
# package.
#
# by default we allow relaying from localhost...
localhost.localdomain RELAY
localhost RELAY
127.0.0.1 RELAY
x.x.x RELAY
192.168.1.0 RELAY

Save the file and type this command:
makemap hash /etc/mail/access < /etc/mail/access
After that, re-start sendmail by kill -1 PID or kill -HUP PID.

Hope this helps !
