Hi everyone, Sorry for this off-topic cross-post - but I don't have anyone else whom I can ask this question. Just reply to me in private - [EMAIL PROTECTED] I'm here in Hong-Kong and am coming home this Sunday (May 27). I bought 256MB SDRAMs, a CD-RW drive and a video-capture card. I was wondering whether the hardware above are safe to be passed thru airport X-ray machines, metal detectors and other security equipment? Won't the IC chips be "fried" by X-rays or metal detectors? == PLUG === to make this a bit on-topic for the PLUG mailing list, it would interest you that one computer bookstore here, DataBank, which sells English computer books has a workstation where you can surf the Net; guess what the OS is? right - Linux (though I don't know which distro - I'm guessing Red Hat) and using KDE. == PH-CYBERVIEW == i think it's a sort of a 'fad' here to offer at least one Internet connected workstation for free on establishments. Maxim's (restaurant) here in Central has three free Internet workstations. Le Saundda (don't know if my spelling is correct - it's a shoe store) has 1 Net workstation. Sassa (perfumes) has also a Net connected workstation. You can order groceries na here from the 'Net (I've not tried it yet though). Wellcome (a grocery) offers on-line ordering. http://www.wellcomehk.com HSBC bank here also offers on-line banking. I've not tried it pero I've seen the interface - ok nga eh. From the URLs I think(or guess) they're using JSP/servlets. ==== Anyway, I thought I'd just share some of the things I've seen here just to make-up for the off-topic question above. Thanks in advance, Joshua L.
