I myself would prefer freeradius mainly due to its modular design. It
would be easy to create custom plugins for authentication and accounting.
The problem is, freeradius is still relatively new, and a stable release
could be a few months away.

Within a year or so, if freeradius proves to be at least as stable as
cistron radiuses, I'd be porting our system to that.

OTOH, if I'm starting a system from scratch, I'd go for freeradius.
