Just a rant...
One of the show-stoppers for me is that Palm is keeping the m50x USB sync
protocol under wraps. This keeps the m50x off my wish list of things to
buy since i won't be able to sync it under a non-Windows OS. I don't use
Windows except to play games. ;) So all my syncing takes place when my box
is in Linux. So I don't see any compelling reason for me to jump and get
an m50x anytime soon.
... and raves...
The major app I use on my Visor Deluxe these days happens to be Plucker
(http://plucker.gnu-designs.com) in conjunction with SiteScooper
(http://www.sitescooper.org) and these run really well under Linux (they
work in Windows too). Great for reading *more than 10* websites offline.
Plucker stores the "plucked" websites in compressed format too, which is
one more advantage of using Plucker instead of AvantGo. The only feature I
feel is missing from Plucker right now would be FORMS, which I'm goading
the developers into working on.
What I'm looking at getting though is the new Sharp PDA which runs
Linux/Java. :) (http://developer.sharpsec.com)
It'll be neat to write apps for that.
