Hello all, Well I just tried the 0.10 version of Evolution. I Red-Carpet'ted it from Ximian. Screenshots here: http://tara.mozcom.com/evo.html It SEEMS somewhat usable. The first time I ran it, the thing said it needed to set something up, then silently died. The second time I ran it (from a terminal this time), produced lots of assertions like Mozilla but ran OK. I was able to check some mail from my IMAP mailbox, compose and send a rich-text message (see the screenshots). Looks more stable than last I checked. Oh but you'll be overjoyed: memory footprint with one Evolution Mail and one Evolution Composer window open: 56MB. Add to that, oh, 45MB for Nautilus and another 50MB for Mozilla.. and you're looking at > 150MB memory footprint. What about X? it's a huge hog too. My 256MB Linux box is SWAPPING. But then 256MB costs 2200 now. I think I'll up this to 768MB. Still have two free DIMM slots. =) Still, bloat is bloat. Windoze wouldn't know what to do with 768MB, and on this machine of mine Windoze flies.. most of the time (the other times it's flat in a tarpit of re-installs). -- Orlando Andico <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mosaic Communications, Inc. -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.12 GE d(-) s: a-25 C++++ UBLSI++++$ P+++ L+++>++++ E- W++ N(+) o K? w O-- M- !V PS(++) PE- Y PGP-- t(+)@ 5(+) X++@ R(+) tv@ b++ DI++ G e++@ h--(*) r% y+ ------END GEEK CODE BLOCK------ _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
