I myself have been wondering why I can't proceed with even the
LimeWire installation process since last week. It never occured
to me that it was a glibc incompatibility until I saw your post.
Anyways, i tried the installation again a while ago on the same
box (via remote X since I was at home) and simply invoking
"export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5" on the shell made it work. BTW,
this is on RH 7.1 and Sun's jdk-1.3.1.i386.rpm.
