hello list. i have the vacation auto answering email program installed on
my email server. i had tested it and it successfully works on users with
shell acounts (they have their own /home/username folder and has a /bin/bash
shell).

however, all my users have a common directory '/home/hall' (meaning home of
all that's why hall) and they all have /bin/false shell (meaning they have
NO shell access).

is there any way i can have the vacation program run, which is
'user-triggered'? meaning i don't have to create one by one all the
username's own directory in /home and giving them shell access? in which my
user can set on or off if she/he wants her/his email in 'vacation' mode?

or is there any more better 'vacation auto responder' for sendmail out
there?

my mail server has around 2800+ users, running redhat 6.2, sendmail-8.9.3,
cucipop-1.31, and vacation-1.2.5.

any ideas on how?
