Try switching to XFree 4.1.0, I think hardware acceleration for
full screen mode was not yet supported on 4.0.x or might have been buggy, got the same
prob before I switched to 4.1.x and I was on a GeForce on that, I use a SuSE 7.1 boxen.
Right now I want to test DRI (direct rendering infrastructure)
and see Linux's OpenGL capability, unfortunately Nvidia doesn't
provide the open source community the development it needs to
support DRI. =( will have to find a Matrox somewhere.
