I tried Opera on Linux before but didn't like it (even if everyone said
Opera on Windows was cool). I checked their site out again and downloaded
Opera v5.00. I got the Debian package (yes, they have one, waaahoooo!!!)
of the one statically linked to Qt2, and was pleasantly surprised with the
progress since the beta I tested.
Aside from the fact that Opera seems to be free (beer) for everyone (I
didn't read anything about "for non-commercial use only", but if someone
knows of a clause like this in its license please let me know), it _is_
fast and pretty good at what it does.
I used the CDE motif so that it looks like the rest of my Xfce desktop,
configured the fonts so that it uses Verdana (hehehe), and then I was
whizzing. The space is a little bit cramped because of the banner ad, but
the speed more than makes up for it. Plus the fact that it has an internal
taskbar, which saves me from having to shift windows which I had to do
with Netscape or Mozilla.

Plus Mozilla's slow on Linux, I find. Everyone says its faster, but I find
the handling of the menus sluggish. The Windows version of Mozilla 0.9.3
seems to be able to handle such basic stuff better. <pout> At least we've
got Opera. :)
Orly: would you know if there is an available plugin for Flash pages?
