You may as well ask why there are usually more guys than girls on any list - or group
- that deals with technical topics, and what we can do about that.
For example, there's still that perception that Linux is a geeky OS suitable only for
techies (mostly guys, too). And since there's so much available for Windows -
Microsoft Office, Winamp, and the Sims, for example - why would a girl who doesn't
love (or even really like) technology get into Linux? Trying out Linux (usually)
requires a repartition, and the learning curve is admittedly steeper than Microsoft's.
That aside, I wish more girls would try this. =) It's not that they can't - just that
they probably haven't tried it out enough to like it.
Oh, right. And there's also that assumption that most - if not all - computers are
guys, when on the Net. Would you believe that some people assumed I was gay instead of
female from the way I type? ;)
