i've always assumed that most isp's uses pap/chap for connectivity but i was surprised to find out that my isp (comclark - using prepaid instanet card) doesn't seem to use pap/chap. i'm sending and receiving emails in win98 (which magically always can connect) and i've decided it's time to use mutt (or maybe Mew once i get the hang of emacs). when i dialled into my isp i was expecting to receive a tilde "~" to indicate pap/chap link but what i got was a series of backticks which of course ppp can't understand. now my question is how do i get connected to my isp with linux (or any non-M$ system) when i don't even get a tilde? i'm using debian 2.2 with default kernels (2.2.17) and wvdial and ppp compiled in kernel. -- Rino _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
