to the plug board of directors,
first of all, i would like to congratulate everyone
for a job well done in linux10. we appreciate all of
your efforts in helping other people get a good grasp
on linux and better software, as well as making this
world a better place to work in.
maybe you could take these bits into account. with
regards to the direction of plug and linux in the
future (as mentioned in the meeting at apc).
1. safekeeping plug from political influence should be
included in the would-be set of rules or by-laws. a
growing institution is always a target for that. too
much politics (politicians as well as traders) really
sucks. set aside a specific part of plug for
advertisements, for example. to keep everybody happy.
2. we could start our LINUXation by introducing
StarOffice in windows desktops. most people are using
windows pcs mainly because of ms-word and ms-excel
which are both in StarOffice. when they get a good
grasp on staroffice under windows, they wouldn't mind
that much migrating to linux as far as there would be
staroffice.
3. big companies selling computers don't install any
software in computers except for the "C:" prompt.
maybe could offer older versions of linux (to also
safeguard the interest of linux vendors) to be
pre-installed on those computers, when, of course,
plug gets a good funding.
these might seem to others a bit of nonsense but i
think it's a very good place to start.
LINUX RULES!
more power,
-junn flores-
