I checked the ISO images I have, and mounted the installer CD via loopback and
viewed the VERSION file. Indeed it's still #2 as per this file.
So I decided to check with the other MandrakeFreq mirrors listed in
<http://www.mandrake-linux.com/en/ftp.php3#freq>. Please feel free to do the
same, to verify the md5sum values for the MandrakeFreq 20010810 ISO images. For
reference, here are the md5sum values of the ISO images I have and used to burn
your CD-Rs:
b28a4fbe3e1acb6a06445755101fefcd MandrakeFreq-20010810-ext.i586.iso
039975c316af12cf541574b4a68ce73a MandrakeFreq-20010810-inst.i586.iso
According to my cross-verification, I have the same files as the mirrors, which
is _supposed to be_ MandrakeFreq #3, and believe me, has different md5sums from
the previous MandrakeFreq #2 ISOs.
I don't know why the discrepancy with the VERSION file, but that's Mandrake's
fault, and I can only guarantee that the CD-Rs I burn are correct as per the
ISO images I download. Any problem with the contents of the distribution are
beyond my control. :(
