It wasn't Q-Liunx's Linux-99. Q-Linux didn't exist back then. It was WS
Publishing/iPhil that organised Linux-99. We (MosCom) showed off a Sun
Ultra-2200E running SparcLinux, a bunch of iMacs, on a Fore ATM LAN.
It was Oracle that was giving away the penguins.
There's this bar (which I am told is a gay bar..) in Malate called
Penguin. I was there one time and sufficiently intoxicated so when I saw
this "aparador" full of penguins.. I immediately wondered if the bar owner
was a Linux fan. It didn't occur to me, the bar's name...
