i'm no raid expert but what you can do is check the ldp or go to
www.debian.org and search their mailing list archive, mga may/june/july,
for the subject of "RAID". the subject was discussed there, pulled from
all directions, dissected until the original poster was able to setup
his own software raid and according to him he can sleep at nights and
weekends now. :-)
