You can start small with the free versions of vBulletin and Ultimate
Bulletin Board, and hack the code as necessary. Otherwise, you might
want to check out yabb (yet another bulletin board)
<http://www.yabb.org/>, which runs on PHP/mySQL/pgSQL and is open
source. :)
