Hi Jesse,
I have a simple shell script (20-30 liner) that does the following:
1. accepts a text file with the message, and a few email header
(e.g. FROM:, etc)
2. reads email addresses from a MySQL database
3. sends the message to each address every <x> number of seconds. (my
server is resource-challenged). where <x> is normally 10 (seconds).
Whenever I send out a newsletter for Mapua Online! (http://www.mapua.org),
it normally multiplexes to between 3000 to 3500 users.
BTW I use qmail's tools to send out the emails.. but you can always modify
it to use sendmail's. Also, you can easily modify it to make it a CGI or
something.
If you're interested with the script, just me know, and I'll send you a
copy.
stay cool.
