Blame it on CmdrTaco... :) If not for him as a Debian user himself, Debian would not be that popular. Nobody knows this but... It happened 1998-99(?) at that time, malda was in college i think and he adds news items on slashdot on a static web page and upload it to slashdot.org! Someone then at debian-user mailing lists told everyone to vote for debian as the favorite distro. So I went to slashdot and voted for it.debian was immediately no. 1 at the polls then coz i think most of debian users voted for it. I guess it was the first mini slashdot... :) But eventually redhat won coz it was very popular at that time until now. regards, --- Andre M.
