hi sir, im not a real geek in staroffice.. but i hope this can help....
1. as root, run: ./so-****-bin-linux-en.bin -net
change the installation dir to /wheredir/etc/office* or
/usr/local/office* not to /root
2. when finished, root must log out, then log in as one of the users that
will use Staroffice.
then: chmod the dir so anyuser/group can access it :)
3. as user, run /wheredir/office*/program/setup
4. enter some necesarry things.. (email, etc).
5. when done, the user may create a Desktop shortcut or just type staroffice
launching script whose path will usually be:
/wheredir/office*/program/soffice
6. Each one of the remaining users should do the steps 5 and 6.
Should the user try to run /wheredir/office*/program/soffice before having
run setup, no problem. Since no /userhomedirectory/.sversionrc is found,
staroffice assumes no user install was done so far, and starts setup right
away.
hope this help..
