i'd recommend that you use reiserfs/xfs/jfs for that purpose. believe
me when shit hits the fan you'd wish you're in disneyland. dito lang sa
bahay when i was using ext2 and power failures occur, either thru the
courtesy of meralco or my newphews, i almost lost my files. and i was
just composing mails and compiling kernels at that time.
