mentioned something about Mad Digitizer Syndrome ?

| My Palm suddenly picked this up.. probably anthrax. The top-right quadrant
| of the screen is offset about 1cm downward. So I can't click on stuff up
| there like the menu. Attempts to recalibrate the digitizer have ALWAYS
| ended in failure (never-ending cycle, it keeps asking me to tap the
| screen).
|
| I've been apprised that I need to do a hard reboot. Will do than after I
| do my backup (no spare cradle and my cradle is at the office). Anyone
| experienced this problem? (and after seeing a 64MB 320x320 color Clie, I'm
| overcome with PDA envy..)

it happened to me as well. i had one problem then though. i sync
my palm via irda. and when i couldnt tap the sync button (on the
screen) to backup my stuff (yep, in preparation for a hard reboot),
i got so frustrated (after 2-3 weeks of wishful thinking that it would
fix itself) i banged the palm against the other palm (the real palm,
you know, that part of the hand) and against the table top. i mean,
what else could go wrong?! i couldnt sync and backup anyway! and voila,
  the digitizer worked again. *;)

i was able to get it backed up after that and brought it to palm
doctors right away. they opened it up and did some tightening up
and for a week or two, i had no problems. i wouldnt know if it would
have worked on the third week because i got a new palm already (i
  just couldnt live without one.)

fwiw, my old palm was a IIIx.

and to stay on-topic, one of these days, i'm hoping i could flash
  it with linux. *:)
