Isolate the problem. There are a number of factors involved here that you
have to individually inspect in the proper order:

1. Is there enough disk space on the partition in question? Do this by
running "df".

2. Does the underlying  filesystem have enough inodes? Do this by running
"df -i".

3. Can you access the files and create new files in the underlying
filesystem?

If you pass all these tests then you've got a problem with Samba indeed.
If not it's got something to do with the underlying filesystem.
