guys,

i am using mandrake 8.1 as login server and for
internet sharing. i enabled internet-sharing thru
mandrake control center and was able to do so. but
when i restarted my mandrake linux box, the
internet-sharing was disabled. i had to redo
internet-sharing with mandrake control center and it
worked again. upon restarting, it again worked. then
i saw a message regarding firewall settings, so i had
to setup firewall again with control center.

then my real problem came.
upon restarting, the internet-sharing worked with the
windows 98 clients but they couldn't login, couldn't
ping my linux box. i did a traceroute to the internet
and the first hop (mandrake box) gave me "Request
timeout" but the succeeding hops registered fine.

i really really need any help because the domain i had
to setup should be up very very soon. if it wouldn't
work, my boss is inclined on using windows nt as our
server.

i wouldn't really want to go back to windows.
kindly help. any help will do. i would also
appreciate if you could email me personally at
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

please.
