.Net of Open Source? or Open Source of .Net? Let me give a few
clarification.

.Net or .Nyet or .Not is a Framework, IBM Websphere is not.

P.L. > Java : C#, J#

The Platform > JVM (Cross-Platform) : CLR (Cross-Language but not
necessarily Cross-platform). It is still called the .Net Platform not
CLR and it's not even categorized as platform (Sorry for the confusion,
that's how Microsoft wage its war).

The Machine Language > Java Bytecode (Cross-Platform : MSIL
(Cross-Your_Fingers).

The Enterprise Framework > J2EE, JXTA, JSDT : Whistler I think is the
more precise counterpart, .Net is too general.

Privacy Abuse Tool > Microsoft Passport : Sun Liberty Alliance (has a
different and narrower service that does not make it analogous to
Passport).
