If you're using sendmail in your IMAP/POP server your sendmail.cf should
have:

DSyour.smtp.server

If using postfix in your main.cf
relayhost = your.smtp.server

In your smtp server your sendmail should be enabled for mailertable
(this is enabled by default) and in
your sendmail.cf have:

Kmailertable dbm -o /etc/mail/mailertable

/etc/mail/mailertable:
your.smtp.server smtp:your.pop/imap.server
(don't forget to makemap)

If using postfix:

transport_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/transport

/etc/postfix/transport:
your.smtp.server smtp:your.pop/imap.server
(don't forget to postmap)

Your DNS should have your.smtp.server as the primary MX
