Via email you say? I never knew Outlook was ported to Linux. :) Seriously, I can't imagine how this might happen. A long, long time ago there was a vulnerability in Sendmail that *might* have allowed this to happen, but I doubt anyone runs those versions of Sendmail any more. Modern MTA's like qmail and postfix are even less vulnerable. I can't imagine how it might infect a system via an MUA on the other hand, as we have dozens of different mail clients in wide use throughout the Linux community, and none of them, to the best of my knowledge, has ever had a vulnerability that could be triggered by merely reading mail, and none of them have the totally brain-damaged features of Outlook of automatically opening attachments or other nonsense of the sort. -- Rafael R.
