hello. this might help, but it works in redhat

just edit your /etc/modules.conf and specify eg.

alias eth0 3c59x

3c59x.o is the driver for 3c905 series NICs.

all NICs drivers supported by redhat 7.x series are in the
/lib/modules/2.x.x-x/kernel/drivers/net directory, just change your
modules.conf to whatever your card is, then setup the networking you want
(eg. IP, hostname, etc.)

to know the driver suited for the LAN card you have, check out

http://www.redhat.com/support/hardware/intel/61/rh6.1-hcl-i.ld-11.html

for an easier solution, let kudzu detect the new hardware.

Subject: [plug] Driver for 3C905B for Linux router project

Hi Good Day,

Need your help on where I can download the device driver for the 3com
3c905b fast etherlink NIC. I am trying to configure a router from the LRP.
I was able to download from 3Com site but the files were .c and .h. The
modules specified in the LRP are .o files. Can I use the files I
downloaded?

Thank you.
