hello. this might help, but it works in redhat just edit your /etc/modules.conf and specify eg.
alias eth0 3c59x 3c59x.o is the driver for 3c905 series NICs. all NICs drivers supported by redhat 7.x series are in the /lib/modules/2.x.x-x/kernel/drivers/net directory, just change your modules.conf to whatever your card is, then setup the networking you want (eg.
