Having had late experience running one, my observation is that much of
the clientele who do not do network gaming do not do Internetting, but
are students who type school papers.  I don't know what type of
resistance you might meet from these kinds of people, but if you make
doing their work the least bit more complicated, or get them to feel
that the systems you use are wasting their time, you risk losing them.

While much of us techies may find the Linux desktop in something of a
usable state, but remember that most of your clientele are casual users
who go to you because *they don't have their own computers*.  These are
not tech-savvy people like you or me and likely they are going to find
using Linux office apps an unnecessary complication and a hindrance in
their getting their jobs done.  So no, I don't think it's a good idea.
