sorry to say that. but it's simply too MONSTROUS an idea!!! (oracle over
NFS)

even mail over NFS is quite iffy. you need maildir to get good
consistency. the performance implications of oracle over NFS is prolly a
1/1000 speed. horrible!

use OPS. or if you can live with MySQL it has a parallel-hot-update
option.

(mahal ang OPS mahal din ang oracle --- Oracle Parallel Server)

the closest you can get to a "NFS-like" cluster with high-end DB's is to
use a Fibre-Channel SAN running GFS.
