Well in general it's what the gurus tell the newbies to do on PLUG that is
not controversial enough that it doesn't elicit scores of flames or
contradictory opinions from the other gurus on the list.

Examples:

1. telnet is evil.  Don't use telnet to logon to linux servers. Use ssh >=
v3.
