I encountered the same trouble before when helping to set up a
laptop for Win2k dual boot. Sorry I can't say the exact steps 
to solve your problem since the owner of the laptop did it 
himself.

But the problem has to do with the Windows partition not properly
formatted or set up. Vfat support is default in RH7.2. I did   
some changes in the /etc/fstab but it didn't work. Then the
owner suddenly remembered he hadn't formatted the extra partitions 
while on Win2k. We only set up the partitions by Fdisk and Disk
Druid.
