no, this is how it works:

1) mount NTFS on Linux read-write
2) do your evil junk
3) unmount it
4) run the fix tool
5) next time Win2k runs, the Win2k fsck will have to be run

In the past, without (4) Win2k's fsck would die horribly. So, what that
"fix tool" does is merely reduce the damage to NTFS sufficiently so that
Win2k can fix it.

All in all, I wouldn't mount NTFS read-only.
