Hi! I hope you could help me on this...
my question: does linux, or any application running on linux (or others ex. bsd, etc), have a functionality where in it can allocate a specific size or amount of resource into a application? more like a profiling for applications. for example, for a linux box that has 4 CPUs and 4GB RAM, for a particular application or process, it will only allocate 2 CPUs and 256M RAM, and another application is limited only to 1 CPU and 128 RAM. I have heard that Microsoft's Windows 2000 Data center have this kind of feature. Probably linux has this, but i'm not familiar with it yet =) Is anyone of you have tried this, or knows a distribution of linux that can do this? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and more power to PLUG :-)Elline ______________________________________ The information transmitted through this mail is intended solely for the addressee and may be legally privileged.
