hi guys,

I was working on a soho box built by intrusion.com. It's running checkpoint
4.1.
Anyways, I need to fix something though I have never touch that box. This
box
doesn't have any ps/2 port for kbd and neither the vga port. So I read the
manual
and found how to get in to it. Also from the manual, it says there that it
was running
linux. To cut the long story short, I connected my minicom to it via ttyS0
on the intrusion box
and ttyS0 on my notebook too. Rebooted the box and all I can see was

LILO:
Loading default

This it it.

What's the point of my post then? I found out that Intrusion.com deviced
a way to not linux display the normal text we usually see during bootup.

I coordinated with them since I thought the box was defective. Then he gave
me this command. Guys, just in case na mag acquire kayo ng intrusion.com na
box, take note of this command, keep it.

default 4 console=ttyS1,38400,8n1

You're going to use this string on the LILO. Oh btw, the "default" is just a
label.

After that command on LILO, I saw the normal bootup of a redhat 6.2
system. :-)

So ngayon, I wanted something to experiment so yung i-bi-build kong linux,
ganon na rin yung behavior.

So do you guys know how to make linux act with this kind of behavior?

Any help will greatly be appreciated.

Salamat.

Onie
