if you see LI at the prompt and then it hanged, it means that the second 
stage boot loader was loaded properly but cant be executed. try using your 
boot disk to boot into your linux and mount your partition. then try 
putting the word linear to the global portion of your lilo.conf. dont 
forget to run "lilo" after configuring your lilo.conf.
