I just finished installing and configuring my redhat box for IP masq and IP
port forwarding, it is working great on IP port forwarding on eth0 device
but not on virtual device, I've used the stronger firewall ruleset that I
got from the IP MASQ site. I'd like to implement the IP aliasing so I can
put virtual IP addresses on my eth0 device and forward the port to my server
on the private LAN, but it seems not working. Im using kernel 2.2.20 with
ipchains. Can you recommend a work around, or is IP aliasing supported on IP
masq box?
This is my setup:
eth0/eth0:0 -------------------- eth1 (192.168.1.1)
--------------- 192.168.1.2
Internet------------------------->| Linux firewall
|---------------------------------->| switch |------------------->
Linux server
--------------------
--------------
Kernel 2.2.20 with IP Aliasing support enabled.
Any recommendations? Thanks.
