Hi pluggers!

I have a problem: a Red Hat 7.2/CD Writing
problem. My CD Writer is IDE (ATAPI) and CD writing
requires SCSI. Based on the CD Writing HOWTO, it is
possible to use IDE CDRW using ide-scsi emulation. I
followed the Quickstart section of the HOWTO but the
emulated SCSI CDRW is not detected. In Mandrake 8.2,
it is automatically configured (including the LILO
entry hdd=ide-scsi), and it is also detected! I tried
to copied the modules.conf from Mdk to RH but still it
does not work. I also consulted cdrecord docs and
tried them but still it does not work.

I used this to detect my CDRW
        cdrecord -scanbus

Maybe you can help me with this. Is the new version of
RedHat (7.3) released May 6, 2002 better? Or is it a
problem with the kernel version?

Thank you
Marc
