The short story is it was best when he combined them. > KernelTrap.org should have good links, too. i read though in the Linux Journal May 2002 issue that the patch for preemptible kernel is available in the 2.5 kernel tree and that the 2.4 patch is still to come. and if i get it right, the kernel you're using right now is already preemtible - and its a 2.4 kernel. and btw, i believe that patches that come out on the 2.4 kernel tree can be *trusted* because basically it means that it can be considered *stable* since it is already in the *stable* tree? -- this is just a query though... thanks a lot! -- -=[mikhail]=- _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
