hello all,

i'm having a heck of a time getting my linksys WPC11 PCMCIA
802.11b card working on Mandrake 8.2 (it works with no problems
in windows 2000, but i really don't want to live there.

there's no built-in support for the Prism2 PCMCIA hardware
although Mandrake has support for the PCI card (3rd party
driver).

has anyone gotten the prism2 PCMCIA driver working? i'd
appreciate detailed instructions on how to get it working.
i've tried to get this working with two different kernel
source packages (stock 2.4.18, and mandrake's kernel
source RPM) and two different external packages that are
supposed to make this work (linux-wlan-ng-0.1.13 and
Prism2-2002-05-16). i got the Prism2 driver to at least
load (with modprobe) but i can't get it to talk to the
access point. i can't get linux-wlan-ng to work at all.

it doesn't help that the box i'm compiling on is only
a Pentium 233 and therefore it takes hours to build a
kernel :).

i'll keep plugging away (pun unintended), but if anyone's
got this working, i'll be really grateful for pointers.

thanks for any assistance.

tiger
