Hi, UP Diliman's CRS II will be done using Java Servlets and Java Server Pages and not PHP. You might have confused it with a similar design being done by UP Manila.
If you are developing a similar application, get in touch with me and I might be able to set a meeting between you and our CRS Team. --o000o-- Prof. Rommel Palma Feria, MSc, SCJP Health Informatics and Mobile & Wireless Computing Group Dept. of Computer Science, College of Engineering University of the Philippines, Quezon City 1101 Philippines TeleFax: +63-2-4343639 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----------------------------------------- Original Message: From: Orlando Andico <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: PLUG Mailing List <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sun Jun 30 07:15:54 EST 2002 Subject: [plug] GPL school ERP/enrolment system Hello all, There seemed to be some interest in this type of application at last week's NCC IT week. Anyway I am contemplating implementing such a system (ack!) not completely out of the goodness of my heart of course. :) Does anyone have any idea if pre-existing GPL/opensource systems are available? I think UP Diliman shifted to using a PHP-based system from their old ASP-based system. I'm not a big PHP fan myself, but of course of the UP people on the list somehow got a copy of the code (or even just the database schema!) that would be nice.. as it is I'm contemplating re-inventing the wheel. Initially I think a plain enrolment system (manually input classes and courses in the back end) with scheduling would be pretty neat. This is a programming project which I can contemplate undertaking. However the other mundane back-end stuff (like payment! student loans! faculty scheduling!) are drudgery which I don't feel like even *THINKING* of right now. Oh yes. If anyone has a soft copy of the UP EE course outline (subjects, descriptions, and pre-requisites) I'd appreciate your dropping me a line. I need some data to fill in my tables. I already have a preliminary schema of course. Thanks. _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
