My computer is an AMD-K6-2 500mhz with Award BIOS. There are motherboard sensors on it and reports cpu temp and fan speed in the BIOS. It has also a supplied Windows software for fan and temp monitoring, although it's specifically for my Jetway motherboard only. I wonder what your computer is and whether it reports anything to the BIOS. I'd like also to ask the pluggers here if there's any cpu fan and temp monitoring software for Linux, just in case we encounter motherboards with sensors that does not report anything to the BIOS. I'm also wondering if there are Linux applets/applications that will monitor bad memory blocks in memory chips. mikol _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
