The next best thing, I guess, to a free seminar, is to get a book and
study it. I think the LPIC1 Bible is great, but it's gonna cost you
P2,274 from Macromind in SM Megamall. There are other "books" available
online for free, like from GBDirect. They are pretty terse but thorough.

DDN is orgainizing two training courses with Computer Training Labs (CTL)
in Pasig:

1. One-day introductory course to the Linux desktop. This course makes
use of the Caldera-based Lycoris Desktop/LX distribution, which
sports the Lycoris desktop based on KDE. The cost is P2,000. You
get a free copy of the Lycoris Desktop/LX binary CD (no support
   from Lycoris though).

2. Linux Professional Institute Certification Level 1 (LPIC1) course.
This is an 80-hour course. Schedules may vary, but it is generally
available as a two-week course with ten eight-hour sessions. The
cost is around P30,000. It comes with a copy of the course manual
   (most likely the LPIC1 Bible).

You can call CTL at: 636-4381, 637-2453, and 687-1940.

God bless!
