I used to really love WPS, although I don't know how well it would stack
up after years of progress elsewhere. The workplaces, templates, and
control over attributes were really a kick. The entire system had real
depth _and_ polish.

When I blew away my last OS/2 box and went all Linux/BSD, the latter
gave me even more depth and control, but a lot less polish. Some other
things (beyond WPS) probably would seem no longer impressive: Who needs
Rexx, when we have Python?

Or just drop a copy of the source code out on the Net under a reasonable
licence (IBM PL, anyone?), and let those interested do the porting work.

Alas, it's been tried, and the beast has no brain.
