Did you keep your RH 6.2 box updated? Is it connected on the Net? Did your box reject passwordless logins before and now it changed? If No-Yes-Yes, chances are you box might have been compromised. I suggest you reinstall it with an updated version of RH 7.3 and follow the dial-in howto again at http://www.linuxgazette.org BTW, you might want to join the ph-linux-newbie mail list.
