I am using an SiS630-AGP on an office computer. This is fully supported by the "sis" driver on xfree-4.1.0. On some monitors, I could get 1024x768 at 16bpp. On other less capable monitors, I could only get 800x600 at 16bpp. The resolution that you get does not only depend on the graphics card and its video ram, but also on the multi-sync monitor that you are using.
