Is there any project which can open the XML-based formats of StarOffice 6.0/OpenOffice.org 1.0 which can run on low-end Pentium-class (133MHz - 233Mhz) machines? Abiword is good for opening Micro$oft binary-documents (to some degree) while maintaining its low-end friendliness, but it can't open the XML-based documents of OO.o. GNOME 1.4 on a Pentium machine with 32MB RAM runs quite at a tolerable speed (after castrating it of the CPU-hoggers like screensaver, nautilus and wallpaper), and adding a low-end office suite that can open and edit OO.o documents would be great for a low-end desktop which is intuitive enough to use for non-techie people. --
