hi,

you can make your linux box an MX of your domain in which your final 
destination is your lotusnotes server
also make your lotusnotes send mail using your linux box as its default 
relay.
and SMTP is on tcp port 25

what MTA are you using on your linux box anyway? is the lotusnotes box 
visible from the outside (has a live ip)?
