i have this setup:
SMTP <------> mail antivirus <------> pop
SMTP:
Redhat with sendmail 8.12.5
sendmail.cf :
DRantivirus.mydomain.com
1. i send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
2. SMTP server acceps the email and forward it
antivirus.mydomain.com
3. unfortunately, antivirus.mydomain.com is an NT
server. Log files and
monitoring shows that email was accepted, and was
checked for viruses.
BUT it was put on-hold (deferred)status as the NT
server wasnt able to
sent it to pop.mydomain.com
Log file shows that the email:
status:deferred - TO:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
FROM:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
SUBJECT: get here
i think that it cant get to POP because the TO:
header is [EMAIL PROTECTED]
antivirus server is configured that it will send
all mails to pop.mydomain.com
if i change the DR to DRtest.mydomain.com, log file
shows that the TO: header is [EMAIL PROTECTED]
BTW, if i use sendmail 8.6 which is the previous
version that runs on the smtp server. mail works fine
but
it has open relay problems that's why we're
upgrading to sendmail 8.12
what could be causing that?
thanks,
j.carlo
